Australian health experts are callilng for more attention on hepatitis B treatment, according to an SBS report this week.

In its report the SBS quoted Macquarie University Associate Professor and Hepatologist Dr Alice Lee as saying a lack of awareness and access to medical services was to blame for increased prevalence of Hepatitis B infection in Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and migrant communities.

The report also interviewed Associate Professor Dr Benjamin Cowie and Lien Tran, a Hepatitis Victoria Community Education Officer who also has lived experience of hepatitis B.
